RISE Vote 2024
An acronym which stands for Register, Informing, Supporting, and Empowering Voters is a nonpartisan voter activation campaign that centers young people’s lived experiences and voices during the 2024 election cycle and beyond.

Recent studies on youth civic engagement indicate that young people feel disenchanted about national politics. According to research on the civic outlook of young adults conducted by Harvard’s Institute of Politics and the Institute of Citizens and Scholars, 18-30 year-olds exhibit profound concern about the state of our democracy, marginal attachment to either of America’s two major political parties, and decreased confidence in their capacity to shape their civic futures.
CIRCLE’s most recent research indicates that “students who had not received encouragement to vote from teachers in high school were more than twice as likely to agree with the statement “Voting is a waste of time” as those who had been encouraged: 26% vs. 12%.
RISE Vote 2024 is designed to address the foregoing factors by ensuring that rising leaders can access culturally relevant voting pre- and registration materials that celebration their participation in America’s public.
Empowering Youth Voices: Generation Citizen's Civic Education Toolkit and Workshops
In response to the national state of civic education and commitment to the representation of youth voices in our democracy, Generation Citizen is providing a series of ready to use resources including a nonpartisan toolkit, state-based teacher trainings on voter registration and pre-registration, My First Vote storytelling series, and Future forecasting: 2024:2042 Envisioning A Vibrant Democracy skill building workshop.

RISE Vote 2024 Teacher Training

Signed up to participate on state-based teacher trainings on voter registration and pre-registration that position educators to self-organize registration events in areas with lower voter registration rates.
My First Vote (MFV)

A cross-generational storytelling series of RISE Vote 2024 that narrates the first-time experiences of an age-diverse group of voters at the ballot box. The series will feature alumni and students across GC’s states while also narrating the import of local/state issues to national audiences. The series will be featured via GC’s social media on September 17th in celebration of National Voter Registration Day and Constitution Day.
2024:2042 Envisioning A Vibrant Democracy

This interactive skill-building workshop is focused on providing young people with the skills to envision their communities 18 years down the road and become community leaders. This approach, called strategic foresight, is a systematic way of using ideas about the future to anticipate and better prepare for change. We will host a Future Visioning session that uses games and creative conversations to anchor positivity and foster collective efficacy beyond 2024.
