Wilfred Chirinos

Manager, Policy & Advocacy

wchirinos@generationcitizen.org

A Providence, Rhode Island native, Wilfred Chirinos is an Associate on the Policy and Advocacy team at Generation Citizen where he supports GC’s national P&A team project management and communications efforts. A graduate of Boston University with a B.A in Political Science and History, Wilfred received honors in Political Science as well as honors as a First-Generation college graduate.

Prior to joining GC, Wilfred worked as Campaign Coordinator for Lt. Governor Sabina Matos’ race in Rhode Island. Through high school and college, Wilfred did youth organizing with several youth organizations, served in teaching roles with a focus in Social Studies in both Providence and Boston, and was an active member of his BU community serving in the BU Student Government as Chief of Staff and working in the Dean of Students Office. Wilfred’s passion for equitable action-centered civics education comes from his understanding of how becoming knowledgeable of how your government is supposed to work for you and how to assert agency within your government is empowering to those who often feel that they lack the power to affect the world around them for the better.

Outside of GC, Wilfred enjoys (re)watching movies and shows, cooking and trying new foods, and listening to good music (mainly Hip-Hop and Soul according to Spotify)
