Hillary Lima joins the team with over 11 years of experience as a strategic communications and public affairs professional. Her career has been defined by driving impactful change across diverse social impact sectors, including healthcare, education, workforce development, child and family services, and climate resiliency. She has extensive experience providing senior-level counsel to government agencies and mission-driven nonprofits, specialized in managing complex reputations and navigating intricate policy landscapes.

In addition to her professional consulting background, Hillary has a robust history of public service. As a former Town Council President, she has managed the fiscal and operational oversight of a large municipal corporation and has represented the interests of local governments at the state level. During her tenure in public office, she served as Chair of several key bodies, including a School Building Committee, a Municipal Fire Commission, and a statewide Legislative Committee.

Hillary’s professional foundation is supported by an academic background focused on administration and governance. She earned her Master of Public Administration from the University of Rhode Island, and holds specialized certificates in Public Policy, Public Management, and Policy Analysis. She also holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and Public and Professional Communication from Rhode Island College.

Hillary sees herself in the GC mission as someone who spoke at her first public comment at a school committee meeting when she was just 14 years old, participated in We the People competitions, served as President of the RIC student body, and served as a Page and thereafter a legislative intern in the Rhode Island State Senate. The impact was immeasurable.

When she isn’t navigating the intersections of policy and communications, Hillary is an avid sports fan. She enjoys playing golf and pickleball, watching sports, and binging the latest popular documentaries or shows on streaming services.
