Danielle Montgomery is an 8th-grade history and leadership teacher at Diablo Vista Middle School in Danville, CA. She graduated from UC Davis with an undergraduate degree in Sociology. She received her multiple-subject teaching credential from Chapman University and subsequently earned a single-subject credential in history. In 2025, she was recognized by her district with an “Above and Beyond” award for her work with Generation Citizen.
While at Amador Valley High School, she participated in the We the People Civics Competition. This is where her passion for Civics education began. She has volunteered for several years with this program. Currently, she integrates Civics education in her 8th-grade history classes. For the past two years, her students have participated in Generation Citizen. She recognizes the importance of real-life, student-led civic action projects and looks forward to serving on the board for the next two years.
Outside of teaching, she enjoys watching sports, jogging, reading, yoga, gardening, and spending time with family and her four pets.
