    Alexander "Sandy" Pope

    Alexander “Sandy” Pope is pursuing a doctorate in the teaching of social studies at Teachers College, Columbia University. He wants to expand the use of experiential learning in social studies education. He attended Colorado College from 2000-2004, with a semester stint at the University of Auckland in New Zealand. He graduated with a joint Bachelor of Arts in History and Philosophy. In 2008 he completed a Master of Arts in public history at Texas State University - San Marcos. In 2009 he completed a Master of Arts in secondary education at the same institution.

    He has been involved with Generation Citizen since November of 2009, with the goal of bringing this excellent civic engagement program to New York City. Sandy will be working with Generation Citizen at the High School for Health Careers and Services and the High School for Media and Communication. Both schools are located in Washington Heights in upper Manhattan.
