In just two years, Generation Citizen has worked with over 150 classes, empowering over 3,000 young people to use their voices in the democratic process. Our students – overwhelmingly from historically under-represented communities – have introduced legislation to address hunger in Providence, produced documentaries on gang violence in Boston, and written opinion articles on improving public transportation in New York City. We are expanding democratic participation in this country.
Next year alone, we will work with 150 classes between our three sites, reaching over 4,000 students. Because we partner exceptional college volunteers with trained teachers, our program costs are extremely low: each class costs approximately $1,000. We work with an average of five classes in each school, meaning that only $5,000 can sponsor an entire GC school.

- $1,000 sponsors a Generation Citizen class for one year
- $5,000 sponsors a Generation Citizen school for one year
- $500 sponsors five student voices in the Generation Citizen program for one semester
- $100 sponsors one student voice in the Generation Citizen program for one semester
- $50 provides hands-on training and support for one College Mentor to teach a Generation Citizen classroom for one semester
- $25 sponsors five students to attend Civics Day at the end of the semester where they present their action projects and engage with community leaders and local government officials

Matching Gifts
You can double the impact of your gift by enrolling your gift to Generation Citizen in your company’s Matching Gifts Program!
